Christmas is my favorite time of year to design and make treat boxes. Treat boxes are usually filled with candy, but there are occasions when I insert a non-candy item in the box, such as; small bubble wands, tiny stuffed animals on a keychain, slap bracelets, or tiny notebooks. Over the last year, I have been making cards for three group homes. Along with the cards, I send out a treat box of some type. I love treat boxes. They are fun to make and I tend to make a lot of them at Christmas time for the two bazaars where I am at selling my products.
Linda Parker (Papercraft with Crafty in the UK) was the first person I watched on YouTube and learned to make boxes. She was wonderful and I loved that she was easy going and had a great laugh. I do not see her doing anything current, but you can still see her past videos on YouTube. Below are treat boxes I made from watching Linda Parker videos.

Once I learned how to design my own boxes, I went crazy with designs. Here are some that I made in the past. From Advent Calendars to Trains…and I even designed a card/envelope box that looked like a purse. My husband 3-D printed the snowflakes and ‘Let It Snow’ for me.
Then there is the platform box that I used in my first book Scored for Life . I added a butterfly to display jewelry. I really liked this box, but only made two. I should revisit this box and make more.

Then there are my favorites…well, some of my favorites. I designed this one inspired by something I saw at one time. Hot Chocolate houses are so fun to make and give as a gift. Again, I turned to Linda Parker to figure out how to make the basic milk carton box and then added my own design.

Trains…making train cars was fun. I made a larger version some time ago and filled it with gifts for the staff of a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. The staff loved them! They were fun to make.
